DoTERRA Essential Oils

I have been using doTERRA essential oils for 10 years now. I have many resources on how to use these oils and will share some information here. Please visit my website to purchase. Essential Oils and Chakras

 * These marked blends are the ones I have used for years. I have also found the other blends on doTERRA's website and wanted to share both. 

Root-

In a 10 ml roller bottle combine 15 drops of Coriander, 10 drops of Eucalyptus and 5 drops of Spikenard, fill to top with fractionated coconut oil (or any preferred carrier oil).

*15 drops of Patchouli, 15 drops of Vetiver and 10 drops of Frankincense. 

Sacral-

In a 10 ml roller bottle combine 10 drops of Cedarwood, 10 drops of Patchouli, 5 drops of marjoram and 5 drops of wild orange, fill to top with fractionated coconut oil ( or any preferred carrier oil).

*15 Ylang Ylang, 15 drops of Wild orange and 10 drops of Cinnamon.

Solar Plexus-

In a 10 ml roller bottle combine 15 drops of lemongrass, 10 drops of petigrain and 5 drops of melaleuca, fill to top with fractionated coconut oil 

(or any preferred carrier oil).

*15 drops of lemongrass, 15 drops of ginger, 10 drops of peppermint

Heart-

In a 10 ml roller bottle combine 10 drops of geranium, 10 drops of cassia and 5 drops of frankincense, fill to top with fractionated coconut oil (or any preferred carrier oil).

*15 drops of douglas fir, 10 drops of lime and 5 drops of rose ( geranium if rose too expensive)

Throat-

In a 10 ml roller bottle combine 15 drops of lavender, 10 drops of spearmint and 5 drops ylang ylang, fill to top with fractionated coconut oil (or any preferred carrier oil.)

*15 drops of blue tansy, 10 drops of lavender and 10 drops of eucalyptus

3rd eye-

In a 10 ml roller bottle combine 15 drops of helichrysum, 10 drops of vetiver and 5 drops of lavender, fill to top with fractionated coconut oil (or any preferred carrier oil.)

*15 drops of Frankincense, 15 drops of clary sage and 10 drops lemongrass

Crown- 

In a 10 ml roller bottle 10 drops of cypress, 10 drops of ginger, 5 drops in clove and 5 drops of thyme, fill to top with fractionated coconut oil (or any preferred carrier oil.)

*15 drops of arborvitae, 15 drops of rosemary, 10 drops of sandalwood

Emotions and support with Essential Oils

 

Maintaining a positive mood and attitude can be very challenging at times. Life can get pretty stressful, especially when trying to multitask. Chances are you are familiar with managing several tasks at once. In today’s fast-paced environment, we often experience negative moods such as stress, discouragement, and fatigue. Just as being in a good mood gives you a sense of happiness and well-being, bad moods can also lead to negative feelings over time. When it comes to managing your mood, essential oils can help restore your emotional balance and improve your overall attitude in any situation.

WORRIED

Cedarwood: Diffuse after a stressful day to relax the mind and body.

Geranium: Diffuse aromatically to calm nerves.

Serenity™ Calming Blend: Diffuse to help promote relaxation and peace.

ANGRY

Arborvitae: Diffuse at night or rub on forehead, shoulders, or chest to lessen stress and tension.

Patchouli: Rub on temples or apply to the bottoms of feet to calm emotions.

Ylang Ylang: Put a few drops into Epsom salt bath for relaxation.

STRESSED

AromaTouch® Massage Blend: Add to bath or use with carrier oil for massage.

Frankincense: Apply to the bottoms of feet to relax and balance mood swings.

Roman Chamomile: Add 1–2 drops to herbal teas to soothe the body and mind.

Vetiver: Diffuse aromatically or use topically with other calming essential oils, such as Lavender, Serenity, or Balance, to better help calm stress.

RESTLESS/LACK OF CONCENTRATION

Rosemary: Diffuse aromatically or apply topically to help reduce tension, stress, and fatigue.

Lavender: Add to bath water to soak away stress or apply to the temples and the back of the neck to ease muscle tension.

Balance™ Grounding Blend: Apply to wrists or neck to help calm nerves.

InTune® Focus Blend: Apply to temples and back of neck to enhance concentration when feeling tired mid-afternoon.

NERVOUS

Clary Sage: Apply to feet or pulse points to balance hormones.

Bergamot: Diffuse in the classroom or at work during high stress levels.

TIRED/UNMOTIVATED

Grapefruit/Lemon/Lime: Rub underneath your nose to sharpen focus while studying or reading.

Citrus Bliss®: Diffuse aromatically or put one drop on your wrists and rub them together for an uplifting everyday perfume.

Peppermint: Apply to the palms of hands and deeply inhale for a quick pick-me-up.

Wild Orange: Energize the mind and body by placing two drops each of Wild Orange, Pepper mint, and Frankincense in the palm of your hand. Rub palms together and inhale deeply.

SAD/DISCOURAGED

Sandalwood: Apply to the neck at bedtime for a restful sleep, or use during meditation.

Elevation: Diffuse in the mornings to start the day with a positive, uplifted mood.

FEELING BLUE

Myrrh: Use aromatically to help promote awareness and uplift your mood.

Relaxing Blend

3 drops Vetiver

Harmonizing Blend

Essential Oils and Athletes

 

The following tips are from athletes who use natural aromatic compounds for pre- and post-workouts and events. Check out these natural solutions for stability, endurance, pain, inflammation, scrapes, cuts, fungus, and more!  Before taking a pill, or using a synthetic cream, try the side-effect free power of essential oils!  Prepare to be amazed!

All suggestions are effective only with dōTERRA CPTG Essential Oils.

  • Many runners have had luck with rubbing down large muscles with Peppermint, Marjoram, and/or Deep Blue before races. Please dilute with fractionated coconut oil. Also, Mito 2 Max for energy and stamina.
  • An AromaTouch treatment before and/or after an event will help heal or loosen large muscles.  Include legs in the AromaTouch treatment. Contact me if interested in an AromaTouch treatment. 
  • Peppermint oil and Deep Blue oil blend can be very helpful before and after physical exertion.  Use Peppermint oil on large muscles before long runs.  Use Aroma touch oil blend or Deep Blue blends after.
  • Place 4d of Lemon essential oil in 16oz of water and drink (Glass or Stainless Steel Container’s ONLY) Apply Lemongrass essential oil to calves. Load up on X EO mega supplement before the race. Use Alpha CRS or Deep Blue Supplements after for its anti-inflammatory and pain relieving properties.  Drink lots of water and get plenty of rest.
  • For leg cramps, use 3-4d of Deep Blue and 1-2d of Helichrysum directly on the effected part of the calf. Also try AromaTouch and Deep Blue, or Lemongrass essential oils.
  • To relieve pressure and tension, use AromaTouch blend on your back and shoulders.
  • For runner’s knee pain, use Deep Blue then Peppermint essential oils.  You can also try Helichrysum and Frankincense oils.
  • For sore muscles after a run, use Deep Blue and either AromaTouch or White Fir. You can also try Wintergreen and Frankincense for inflammation.
  • Some runners also like to use Peppermint essential oil to improve breathing.  Apply 4-5 drops to the chest to open airways and increase oxygen flow.  Do this at least 5 minutes before exercise or event.
  • Some athletes use Balance essential oil blend for improved clarity and focus.
  • Clove essential oil can be used to help swimmers ear.  Rub it behind, around and on, but never in the ear.

Shared Recipes (FCO = Fractionated Coconut Oil)

Uses of Balance Essential Oil Blend:

  • Physical soreness after exercise: mix Balance 4d, Basil 3d, White Fir 2d, and Lavender 3d, apply for quick relief.
  • Prior to exertion, apply Balance to the low back and back of the neck so that energy flow is clear and focused on the sport. For swimming, apply 15 minutes prior to jumping into the water to be effective.

Uses of Basil Essential Oil:

  • Before you exercise for muscle tone: Basil 4d, Cypress 3d, Rosemary 3d, Lavender 3d, FCO 8d; combine in a bottle, gently shake and apply to muscles prior to exercise to enhance muscle tone and minimize soreness.

Uses of On Guard Essential Oil Blend:

  • Antibacterial properties: On Guard is often used to sanitize gym/workout equipment.  Just add 1d per ounce of water and spray down equipment.

Uses of Peppermint Essential Oil:

  • Energy and mood enhancement: Inhale Peppermint before and during a workout to boost your mood and reduce fatigue.
  • Sprains: 5d each of Cypress, Roman Chamomile, and Peppermint with 1 tablespoon of FCO.  Massage on location.
  • Apply several drops of Peppermint oil on fresh bruises (dissipates swelling and damaged cells), bites (stops itching) and impact injuries that are on unbroken skin.
  • Inflammation: Massage several drops of Peppermint oil on the area of injury to reduce inflammation.

Uses of Marjoram Essential Oil:

  • Marjoram essential oil may be relaxing and calming to the muscles that constrict and sometimes contribute to headaches. Decreasing swelling is one of Marjoram's most important jobs, because swelling causes most of the pain you experience from cuts and bruises. If you have a headache, menstrual cramps or bruises, repetitive strain injury, sore throat, insect bite or almost any type of infection, they all involve inflammation that pins down your nerves, and that pressure cause’s pain. Marjoram can penetrate without causing extra heat sensation to the area. It can also be effective with relief of backaches, carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatica, and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) syndrome.
  • After-Sports Bath: Lavender 3d, Roman Chamomile 2d, Marjoram 2d, Helichrysum 1d. Remember to use Epsom salts in bath to disperse oils throughout the water, not just ride on the surface.
  • Soothe aching muscles: Fractionated Coconut Oil (FCO) 1 tablespoon, Marjoram 3d, Lavender 4d, Thyme 4d, and Peppermint 4d; gently mix and apply to sore areas.
  • Soothe aching muscles: FCO 1 tablespoon, Marjoram 4d, Geranium 5d, Frankincense 3d, Clove 2d, Peppermint 4d; gently mix and apply.
  • Post-Workout rub: FCO 1 ounce, Marjoram 3d, Thyme 2d, Roman Chamomile 4d, Lemon 3d, Cypress 4d, Peppermint 2d; mix gently and massage the mixture into your muscles and joints to prevent stiffness and pain.
  • Sprain relief mix: FCO 1 teaspoon, Marjoram 4d, White Fir 2d, Cypress 4d, Peppermint 3d; gently mix and apply to sprain every half hour for first 4 hours and then every few hours as needed.

Uses of Lemongrass Essential Oil:

  • Lemongrass oil can improve your athletic performance by increasing blood circulation. (It brings highly oxygenated cells from your lungs to enhance the energy you need for better physical performance.) After exercising, it is very helpful in promoting and relief of buildup of lactic acid in the muscles that can cause cramping or Charlie Horse. Lemongrass oil has also been reported to be very effective in reducing pain.
  • Bruise blend: (Used to strengthen capillaries and speed the reabsorbing of blood that has collected in the tissue. Big or little, deep or wide, it works!) Helichrysum 5d, Cypress 4d, Lavender 3d, Lemongrass 3d, Geranium 3d.
  • Massage blend for sore and tight muscles: Lemongrass 3d, Basil 3d, Clary Sage 5d, FCO 8d; apply in upwards motion towards torso, wait 10 minutes and then if needed reapply.
  • Pain relief: To dull pain locally, apply directly to the area Lemongrass 2d, with either Lavender 2d or Basil 2d, and FCO 2d.  Apply to the area and wait 6 minutes before reapplying. A little will work faster than a lot, especially for pain and cough.

Uses of Melaleuca and Lavender:

  • Skin fungus: Treat the affected skin areas daily with a blend of Fractionated Coconut Oil 2 ounces, Melaleuca 50d, Lavender 25d (If very sensitive skin, dilute with more FCO). If the skin fungus has spread too many areas of the body, aromatic baths with these oils also help. (Remember to use Epsom salts in baths to disperse oils throughout the water, not just ride on the top.)
  • Make an “Owie Spray” with Melaleuca 15d, Lavender 15d, in a 15ml amber glass vial and fill remainder of vial with FCO with a spray top.
